Mrs Saira Hettiarachchi, the manager, has completed the NVQ Level 4 (RMA) Registered Managers Award – (Adults). She has gained considerable hands-on care experience and management experience at establishments providing holistic care for people with learning disabilities who also had complex behaviour problems and various health needs.
Dr Anthony Don – PhD, BSc, MSc, CCN with nine years experience at Danka UK plc as the Digital National Specialist with responsibilities for BSI & DVLA. Subsequently moved to construction industry handling contracts including designing & commissioning of large care home projects throughout the south east of England. Dr Don has completed his NVQ Level 4 (RMA) and has also gained many years experience working with the elderly and also with adults with learning difficulties, and challenging behaviour.
We also have a Quality Assurance Manager who has completed the NVQ Level 4 (RMA) Registered Managers Award – (Adults). The QA Manager has care experience and management experience at establishments providing holistic care vulnerable people and is responsible for and maintains Quality Assurance.

Sara Lodge being a new care home, the staff numbers would depend on the type of service facilities and the care needs of Service Users* who would select Sara Lodge to be their future home. At Sara Lodge, there will be a three shift staffing operation (6:45am – 2:00pm, 1:45pm – 9:00pm and the night shift from 8:45pm – 7:00am) to suit the needs of every Service User. Sara Lodge would adhere to ‘Residential Forum of Care Staffing in Care Homes for the Young Adults’ and the minimum standards at all times.
Staff employed at Sara Lodge would be with necessary NVQ Level qualifications and/or with experience in the relevant field, where possible. Other staff will receive constant training, support and supervision ensuring high standards and those lay down by Social Services time to time. Also, it would be the policy of Sara Lodge to encourage its staff to study whilst in employment after identifying the special needs of its Service Users and to financially support those members of staff to meet the required standards expected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).All staff undertake an Enhanced Disclosure with the Criminal Records Bureau.
Sara Lodge will provide their own staff. To ensure that staff are in compliance with Health and Safety, Policies and Procedures, an external company has been employed to ensure rules and regulations for employment are complied with accordingly.
