Sara Lodge is unique in that we provide our Service Users with a tailored, stimulating environment where individuality is natured. At the same time we provide professional staffing to allow our Service Users to live their daily lives at a pace that suits them.
One of the things that people remember the most about their first visit to a Sara Lodge is the warm welcome. For us, it isn’t just a welcome, but, we hope, a welcome home.
It helps that we’re a small organisation – we feel we can offer a truly warm and friendly environment, where people feel secure and happy. From the moment a new guest steps through the door, we treat them with the love, respect and tenderness that we’d want for our own family.
We’re small enough to preserve that important personal touch, but also large enough to offer high standards of care and a stable, safe environment.
Most importantly, we believe that our Service Users should have real choices about what they do and how they’re treated, so we listen to what people say, and we constantly adapt and improve what we do.
We understand that finding the right home isn’t always easy. At Sara Lodge we offer a therapeutic Residential Service to both males and females between the age group of 18 to 65 years who are diagnosed with moderate to severe learning disability and challenging behaviour needing 1 to 1 or 2 to 1 staff support. We strongly believe that independence is just as important as a safe and caring home environment.
In Safe Hands
We offer your loved one guaranteed safety, security, relaxed and homely environment in which their holistic care, well being and comfort are of prime importance.
We as a care home maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all Service Users within a warm and caring atmosphere, and in so doing will be sensitive to the Service Users’ ever-changing needs. Such needs may be medical/therapeutic (for physical and mental welfare), cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional or social. Service Users are encouraged to participate in the development of their personalised Care Plans in which the involvement of their family and friends may be appropriate and greatly valued. The above will be achieved through programmes of activities designed to encourage mental alertness, self esteem and social interaction with other Service Users and with recognition of the six core values of care which are fundamental to the philosophy of our Home. Sara Lodge will be committed to apply and practice the principles expressed by the government through its White Paper ‘Valuing People’, thus ensuring that the residents, their families and the carers feel comfortable and confident.
